The Society is represented in the following NZ ports:

AUCKLAND – The Society is a partner in the Auckland International Seafarers’ Centre. Rev Aaron Ironside the manager and a chaplain/welfare officer at the Centre. He is the National Manager of Maritime Welfare Ltd which provides the services at the Centre.
The seafarers’ centre is located at 21 Tooley Street, Auckland Central.

BLUFF – Bluff Seafarers’ Centre – located opposite the security base at the main entrance to the port in Bluff (SOUTHPORTNZ).
The centre operates unmanned 24/7/365. It offers facilities for free wifi, courtesy of the port company, and recreational activities such as pool, tea and coffee.
The port’s transport drops seafarers at the Centre. Contact the security personnel for access if the centre is locked.

BAY OF ISLANDS (PAIHIA, OPUA) – no seafarers’ centre. The Society is represented in the Bay of Islands by Ms Carol Forsyth carolfour(at)xtra.co.nz.

PICTON – no seafarers’ centre at present although a facility on the wharf at Shakespeare Bay is generously being made available by Port Marlborough and is opened when ships are at the wharf.

PORT CHALMERS (DUNEDIN) – Otago Seafarers Charitable Trust.

Facilities: Telephone; Email; Internet & WIFI; TV; Pool Table; Tea and Coffee; Mail. Chaplains available. (NOTE: The OSCT is not formally associated with the Sailors’ Society)

TAURANGA (BAY OF PLENTY) – Sailors’ Society member group, Bay of Plenty Seafarers Charitable Trust, supports the United Seafarers Mission. A volunteer ship visitor representing the society works with the Mission to Seafarers’ welfare officer at Sulphur Point.
